I got my mighty squaro today and the top and the hatch sides are seriously sunken in. Anyone else have this problem? Haven't contacted cs yet but i feel i will have to send him back and dont really want to have to pay more for spmething i already paid for.
Sadly I think this is just an issue with such a big piece of vinyl. Mines the opposite, bowed out on the sides and top and super sunket on the bottom. I attribute the sinking on mine to just its sheer weight and the socal heat.
A thicker load of vinyl in the mold would have prevented this.

Actually the amount of into used in a mood is closely watched, this type of thing (either bowing or bulging) is usually caused by gas build up, more than likely due to change in pressure from altitude while traveling though change in temperature (either hot or cold) can cause problems as well.

Bubo, I sent an email to the engineer , that's all I can do in the given situation. If it's a design flaw, it's strange that only few pieces got affected and I'm sure they will look into it.
You're welcome on the replacement, I hope your Zombie will be healthy and standing on his feet in no time.

re: mighty squares, doubtful that it would have been pulled out quickly from the mold while still warm and slumped for two reasons a) generally these type of molding machines are on a controlled timer release that's preprogrammed for cooling. b) even if it had been pulled out early for some reason it would then have had to go to paint and assembly then to packaging, it's doubtful that they'd have painted on a deformed square, actually I believe these are pad printed for decals on the side which means a deformed side would have made the print misaligned and it would have looked like shit.

Usually the squares are just slightly puffed on a side or sunken a bit, what you'd expect from too much air inside or from a bit of vacuum.
That leg was weird though, almost wonder if the wrong type of plastic pellets were used or if there was a moisture issue possibly as it seems like a issue with the plastic pellet

What was the email about? Sometimes CS are contacting the Hatchery or production team (people who work on repairs) and if they are busy, they can't answer and holding you back as well

It was in regards to my second broken Sandvich. Purchased one at SDCC, and it had a broken olive, they told me to send it back to fix it, so I paid $48 USD, received it back last week in a box that was made of pieces of other boxes and then the sandvich was just wrapped in tight bubble wrap so the olive was busted off again when the not so sturdy box started coming across the seas. I have no idea why they didn't put it in the original clamshell packaging to send back, so now I have paid for the item twice as well as 3A paying once and I still have a busted product.

Usually the squares are just slightly puffed on a side or sunken a bit, what you'd expect from too much air inside or from a bit of vacuum.
when vinyl parts, hollow or solid, are removed from their molds they get deformed or twisted a bit. that's normal.
after demolding they're usually put in an oven which softens up the vinyl a bit again to make it return into it's intended shape
which is the shape it had inside the mold.
this means: any issue with deformed vinyl - wether that be bent or bulged or warped or what have you - can be solved via heat.
it might take some time with a hairdryer or a little less time with a heatgun or similar or even an oven if you have one but you can do it yourself.
the important thing is to make sure that hollow parts - like e.g. a square body - have a hole in them somewhere for air balance.
meaning that when you heat up a square the heat will make the air inside that square expand which in turn of course will cause the square
to 'puff up'. then, when the air cools it will contract again and if the vinyl is still soft at the time it will cause the square to 'sink in'.
so, here's what i do: let's stay with the square example. if it's sunk-in or puffed up - i heat it up in an oven or, if it's a mighty square, with a heat gun
nice and evenly and wait for the bent part/side/whatever to get soft. often the part will return to it's original shape and form on it's own once it's really soft.
now, here's where the air balance comes into play. as stated above, once the original shape is achieved, the air inside the square must get balanced -
the square must either 'breathe in' (in case it is sunk-in) or 'breathe out' (in case it is puffed up). ususally, with the regular squares, i just pull the hip plug out
which reveals a big hole for the air to go in or out. with a mighty square that might be a little difficult. so i suggest poking a needle somewhere
into the bottom of the square and then of course pulling it out.
it might take a bigger needle but never worry, the hole will close up eventually after you heat up that spot some more.
you should actually hear a hissing sound whe the air rushes in or out the square body.
well, this was a rather longish babble - but i hope it will help you guys out in the future anyways.
cheers

So sorry to hear that Arroneous , that's very unfortunate turn of events. Maybe they ran out of clamshels for sandvich, but they had to use more sturdy packaging. Please let me know via PM, if there will be any holdup with CS.

I'll send them one more email in regards to it then go from there. I would assume sine all the Bamba allotment Sandvich's just shipped out they would have plenty, but what do I know. Funny enough they replied within minutes of requesting a tracking number....

From his post it sounds like he sent it in inside the clamshell, so they had at least one

With the extreme heat yesterday was able to pop out my DW Berties arm without a hair dryer, though can't get the double ball joint out of it.
Its frozen insanely tight, trying to move it I can see it deforming the vinyl of the shoulder, any suggestions for getting the ball joint out or do you think I should just leave it in and send the whole thing to CS?

hairdryer at the shoulder for 5 - 10 sec should do it, the ball joint itself is a hard plastic so you should be fine
