Disclaimer:

Basically what I'm doing here (since end of December 2008) is putting all the news from the board and everything linked to 3A, 3A lines or Ashley Wood's comics and art day by day, sometimes it's updated even hourly. Most of the news and updates will be in a form of Ashley Wood quotes, as around here Ashley's quotes have a lot of meaning for the future events around 3A or product releases, variants or prices. Some quotes would be Ashley's interaction with people, talking about stuff and explaining his views on thing or just making jokes. We here respect Ashley, it's his house and I think it wouldn't be wise, not to put those quotes here for everyone interested to see.

All quotes will feature short explanation from me and sometimes direct url to the conversation, so you could better understand the context. In the same time, I gather here all the news from 3A site, 3A production blog and Ashley Wood's blog or any related source of info around Ashley Wood or 3A.

Plus you will find here lots of 3A board news: who won board competitions, photos of toys by our boardies (I always put first photos of toys which currently shipped out, made by our boardies) or simply good photos of 3A toys and many more news. This place is our home, breathing and living organism and our legion members spent lots of their time here. Legion members you may ask? Yes, 3A board members are part of 3A legion, powerful force, where everyone is supporting each other and always ready to give heads up or friendly advice.

Why I'm doing all this? Answer is really simple: not everyone wants to read everything on the board, to find something useful, so this thread supposed to be a good choice, if you don't have time to constantly check the board, 3A blogs and all the related media places.

If you are new to the board and 3A, and you want to see news for previous month, you can read them in this section as well, going through all the months of the 2009 and enjoying the fun ride.

All the images are made as thumbnails (new ones are hosted on imgur), for better layout of the news and save loading time, but they all lead to the big pictures.

It's time to open F5 Bar Grill pre-party! What is F5 Bar and Grill? It's a cool place, where we all hang out before the sale starts, sharing excitement, our thoughts and whatnot, and trying our best to stay on topic (we aren't always succeed though).

Time and date set for 2000 AD Ro-JAWS sale and it's March 22nd, 9:00 AM Hong Kong time at www.bambalandstore.com . Dream come true for 2000 AD admirers and for those , who love unique stuff. Ro-JAWS stand 20cm tall , has articulated arms, front panel opens to hide the turds and of course, comes with 1/6th scale turd. Squishy feel tires!

Another figure, which we will see at upcoming 3A toy & art show in Hong Kong, called REVENTURE: 1/12th scale Kid Sarge, who until now was exclusive to WWR MK2 Square 10pack

"Where is my VOX" text written by Ashley Wood:
This week will see a new VOX, VOX has proven quite the success but the reality is, it’s a bugger to find time to do it ( on top of everything else I do ). I’m pretty sure most think 3A is much bigger company than we are, and we just don’t have the man power to make it happen on time every time. All our resources are being directed at shipping toys that are late, we want you guys to get those more than making a newsletter.

Our mission is still the same as it as was on day one, make great toys. The downside to this is it sometimes takes more time to do than first thought. During production many issues pop up, some are easy, some take some work, always with a better product in mind. I would rather delay something and deliver a better product than ship it on-time but inferior. Take the retail AK figures, which were delayed for packaging defects and the fact I didn’t like the jeans on Little Shadow, yup I delayed the toy further for this, because I don’t want a figure with what I thought were shit pants. Now also remember, we have not been paid a cent for these figures up till that point, retailers do not pay until they are ready to ship ( regardless of what some may say ), I was spending 3A money remaking the jeans for a better product, coz in the end that’s what we all want, better toys, care taken, even at the expense of time and effort!

That’s just 3A, if that isn’t your thing, stay away and accept the mass produced and uncared for shit!

We have a couple of new prints going up today the first batches, yup we don't offer any pre order times, or whatnot like most others, that's just the way the Ashley Wood gallery is. Also please remember one per customer or your order will canceled!

Spending a lot of time preparing for the Venture art show, I'm not actually that fond of looking over my own in detail preparing to ship etc, but I think the outcome is worth it !

Even though, not a lot of happening in online 3A world right now and we are waiting for VOX , which will come with fresh news and pics....3A forum never sleeps and constantly something awesome is happening here and it always worth to hang around (not only you can take about toys, but you always can make great friends along the process). Earlier today Forum Exclusive Gospel thread started and quickly list was closed and now Ashley will make a special edition of Gospel print for fifty boardies (which jumped the list first). Damn, I love Fridays now, but for another reason (as I work on the weekends as well) and the reason is VOX! Because of time difference, VOX comes in on my morning time.  And before VOX is out , we talk for days what will be there and we would love to see and on Friday the anticipation is so HIGH and air becomes tight, just like on the concert, when you are waiting for your favorite band to go out! And the minutes after the VOX is out,  everyone starts discussing pics and sharing ideas, likes/dislikes. AWESOME, just awesome time!

Exciting news about Australian 3A design studio
Today see's the opening of the Australian 3A design Studio, 3AWA is located in Northbeach Western Australia, just a skip from the ocean, if your an artist, designer, game studio or super talent in the vicinity keep an eye on the 3A blog, as we want to get to know you and make some great stuff !

What this potentially means for 3A? That we will see some new designs in the future and Showcase line will be growing (or there will be another names for these lines). Either way, very excited about the future.

Surprise sale of AK Fighting JC coming to Bambalandstore? I will arrive without warning and then leave! - text says on 3A production blog. However this version is called Palm in the face Sunday JC and Palm Sunday is on April 1st this year. But who knows? Maybe I'm reading the clues wrong.
If you don't know what 3A surprise sale is, here is a short explanation: figure goes on sale, on random time at www.bambalandstore.com and leaves the store, when certain number is reached. 3AA members don't have 24 hours buying window for this one (as was mentioned in 3AA 2012 rules: "*3AA 2012 members are guaranteed access to purchase one ( more if applicable ) standard release and 3AA exclusive releases for the period of the 2012 membership. Standard sales does not cover special sales of limited nature, Ashley Wood 1:1 editions or 3A publications.")
How not to miss this release? Keep watching 3A blog, my updates and my forum...surprise release demand some effort, time and luck. Some think that surprise releases are bad, some love them...I hope that everyone, who is hunting for AK Fighting JC will go home with one and I'll do my best to help you with that.

I know that all people are different, we have all our own likes/dislikes and understanding of what "fun" is.  I'm aware that some, who just discovered 3A , are really not fans of surprise sales (when you don't know specific date and time beforehand) - been seeing how new people discover 3A, then find about *surprise sales* bit , for last three years. I must say, that these sales were always part of 3A history and 3A essence, some of the things, which make 3A more alive and special. Collecting figures and 3A experience should be fun and if "unknown sales time" for one specific figure is too much of a trouble for you, then I think it's better just ignore the sale and concentrate on something else. Ashley mentioned earlier that there will far more AK figures this year.
With that I want to wish everyone, who is hunting - the best of luck and remind that Ashley is living in HK time zone.

Mainly it's an introduction for people, who don't know me (and been reading only 3A blog), but here is a link. Hopefully it will all go as planned and I will be bugging you with my news updates, teasers and whatnot on threeA blog as well.
As for AK Palm in the face Sunday JC sale , you guys keep asking  a question , which other MODs and I sadly don't know how to answer on. Surprise sales essence and nature is , that they are entirely Ashley Wood territory and he decides when to put figures up for sale.
Based on previous pattern: once certain Fighting JC sale number will be reached, figure will be gone from the store and declared sold out, until then, there is a chance. However, please remember that Ashley Wood lives in HK time zone, so it's already passed 8PM there and he will hardly be putting Fighting JC at the store during the night.
My guess would be that, there will be some more Fighting JC tomorrow (HK time), but I certainly can't guarantee it.

After coming up and down at Bambalandstore for a number of times, AK Sunday JC is sold out and left the store.

ThreeA Trading Company Ltd is a Hong Kong based company founded in 2008 by co-owners Ashley Wood and Kim Fung Wong.  Kim Fung Wong generally handles the wholesale and production aspects of the company while Ashley Wood designs the figures and handles marketing.  ThreeA develops and manufactures designer toys, posters, books, prints and clothing based on characters and paintings created and designed by Ashley Wood.  ThreeA also creates toys based on licensed properties such as Metal Gear Solid, Halo, 2000ad and Valve to name few.  In four short years 3A has slowly grown to be a premiere toy maker!

Hong Kong Reventure marks ThreeA’s third art and toy show and the reunion of Hong Kong Venture, the company’s first art show that took place in Hong Kong in November of 2009. The event will take place at 3A Headquarters in Kwun Tong, Kowloon and will feature art work by Ashley Wood, William Wray, and toys produced by ThreeA. The event will also feature the sale of Hong Kong Reventure Exclusive toys that were developed solely for sale at the event to attendees. These Event Exclusive toys will first be offered at an online pre-sale available to ThreeA Associates (3AA membership) and will also have an allotment to be sold to the public at the event. Details follow:

3AA Online Pre-sale Guidelines

• Pre-sale will take place on 10th April, at 9am, at 3A’s online shop (www.bambaland.com). Pre-sale of Event Exclusives is available for ThreeA Associates (3AA) only, and is limited one (1) set per person.
• Three (3) sets will be available for pre-order. Set composition will be announced a few days before the pre-sale.
• Set A and B
• Set C , a complete set
• When placing the online pre-order, the buyer MUST enter his/her complete name, as written on his/her legal ID (e.g. ID card, Passport, Driver’s License), into the “Special Instructions” text field provided in the screen.
• You must pay in advance (with PayPal or AliPay), or your order will be canceled.
• Pick-up will take place at 09:30pm – 11:00pm on Friday 27 April, and at 11:00am – 08:00pm during the remainder of the event (28 April – 4 May).
• You must be present at the event to collect your order for yourself.
• When receiving your order at the event, you must present your legal identification (e.g. ID card, Passport, Driver’s License), as well as a paper print-out of both your Order Confirmation from Bambaland and your PayPal or AliPay receipt.
• All the above three (3) items must be presented in advance when picking up your order.  Absolutely NO exceptions will be made.
• In case of any disputes, the decision of ThreeA shall be final.

On-Site Event Sale Guidelines

• In addition to 3AA pre-sale, a selected amount of Event Exclusives will also be available to the public for purchase on-site at the event.
• A queue will be formed near the downstairs event entrance on the night of Friday 27 April, at 7:00 pm. The exact location will be announced in advance and marked.
• To enter the queue, you must be ages 15 – 60.
• A purchase pass will be issued to customers. Each person is only entitled to one purchase pass.
• Anyone caught jumping queue will be sent to the back of the line.
• Sale will begin on Saturday, 28 April at 10:00 am.
• Each toy is available on a first come, first serve basis until sold out.
• Limited purchase of one (1) of each available figure per person.
• You must pay immediately in cash (only HKD accepted) upon reaching the front of the queue and placing your order.
• If you placed a 3AA pre-order, you may not buy duplicate items at the event.
• In case of any disputes, the decision of ThreeA shall be final.

General Event Details

• The Opening Night Event Party will take place on Friday 27 April and be opened only to invited friends and guests of ThreeA.
• The first one-hundred (100) paid and confirmed 3AA pre-sale customers will be invited as guests to the party. They will be notified in advance.
• On 28 April – 4 May, the event will be open to the public.
• Saturday April 28 and Sunday April 29, Ashley Wood will be available to sign books for the fans. The exact time of this signing will be announced in advance.
• After the event has come to an end, an allotment of Event Exclusives will be available on ThreeA’s Bambaland store for fans who cannot attend. Any duplicate orders, or orders placed by those who attended the event, will be canceled. Details will be released in advance.

With less than 24 hours to wait before Ro-Jaws will roll into Bamba, it's time to open F5 Bar and Grill. TWhat is it? Basically it's a special thread on the forum, dedicated to the upcoming sale, it goes live 24 hours before sale starts and goes down, few hours after product leaves Bambaland. What's going on in this thread? Hard to describe, you got to see it by yourself, but I'll try. First of all, people share there their excitement , ask questions about the figures, talk about upcoming release and having fun. Please don't be fooled by "discussion board" name, threeA forum is so much more than that, it's threeA home,  a community of Legionnaires and friends and if you haven't been there yet, we would love to have you there and experience what it's like.

What else is special about F5 Bar? Usually we don't allow interpretation of 3A/Ashley Wood intellectual property and Showcase line characters. But as our tradition goes only on sale nights, we are making an exception and each time I'm looking forward to see, what our board members are capable of!

Have fun in the bar, but don't forget basic rules and maintaining positive vibes of our beloved 3A board. Since F5 Bar during the sale is really crowded and grows like several pages in few minutes, all the essential sales info + sketches will be posted in the first opening post of the F5 thread. So before asking a question, please check the first page of the bar for answers. You can always PM me (or other MODs) if you have some questions and you don't want to post them publicly.

3AA exclusive BLACKHOLE version of 2000AD Ro-JAWS:

Don't know about you guys, but I absolutely loved BLACKHOLE version of Mongrol and I adore dirty & weathered bots. And during Mongrol sale, Ash mentioned that 3A wants to make BLACKHOLE versions of each and every ABC Warriors , we will release...so seeing all of them on one shelf, would be one epic sight!

Additional rules about Re-Venture exclusive pre-ordering (written by Benny, Cody and Siu Bing Bing), to prevent cheating (full text here)

Due to all the people trying to find a way around these rules, effective immediately, any one who places an order during the 3AA pre-sale and does not pick up in person will receive NO REFUND.
If you are not absolutely, positively certain you can pick up your own order in person and provide your legal identification to verify that it is your order, DO NOT ORDER.

To explain it a bit for better understanding (as language barrier can be a problem), only the same person, who is the owner of 3AA 2012 account , who pre-ordered Re-Venture figures at Bambalandstore pre-sale (before Re-Venture) , can pick the exclusives up during the event, by presenting all the needed documents mentioned in the rules (ID , paper print-out of both your Order Confirmation from Bambaland and your PayPal or AliPay receipt - your full name has to match everywhere.  If you will pre-order Re-Venture exclusives and not pick them up at Re-Venture , you will not get a refund.
These rules obviously has nothing to do with Bambalandstore allotment, which will be available after Re-Venture.

Oh and blog countdown timer is back to normal and Ro-Jaws will go on sale, on the time mentioned earlier: March 22nd , 9:00AM HK time. Widgets can go mental sometimes , but time mentioned in VOX and here (unless there was a new one) always remains in force.

The figure stands 20cm tall (not including the aeriel) , has articulated arms, front panel opens to hide the turds and of course,  it comes with 1/6th scale turd and squishy feel tires !
3AA members have 24 hours  guaranteed buying window to order both: standard and 3AA exclusive version. General audience – sale might end, once the certain number is reached.
Price: 110 USD , with shipping included in the price.
Standard version isn't limited (but 3A reserves a right to cancel order if improper use is suspected) and 3AA version is limited to MAXIMUM of two per person.

Currently it's 7:50AM in Hong Kong (when I'm writing these words), so only one hour and some minutes left, before guaranteed 24 hours buying window for 3AA members closes.

F5 bar is pretty calm, when there is a surprise release, there can be easy extra 150 pages, of people discussing surprise release batches, when they were on sale and when the next could happen, and how they got carjacked. Ro-Jaws is sitting on the store calmly, gathering turds and waiting for you to love it and take the fig home. Lots of new faces in the bar and awesome sketches & art as always.
