Disclaimer:

Basically what I'm doing here (since end of December 2008) is putting all the news from the board and everything linked to 3A, 3A lines or Ashley Wood's comics and art day by day, sometimes it's updated even hourly. Most of the news and updates will be in a form of Ashley Wood quotes, as around here Ashley's quotes have a lot of meaning for the future events around 3A or product releases, variants or prices. Some quotes would be Ashley's interaction with people, talking about stuff and explaining his views on thing or just making jokes. We here respect Ashley, it's his house and I think it wouldn't be wise, not to put those quotes here for everyone interested to see.

All quotes will feature short explanation from me and sometimes direct url to the conversation, so you could better understand the context. In the same time, I gather here all the news from 3A site, 3A production blog and Ashley Wood's blog or any related source of info around Ashley Wood or 3A.

Plus you will find here lots of 3A board news: who won board competitions, photos of toys by our boardies (I always put first photos of toys which currently shipped out, made by our boardies) or simply good photos of 3A toys and many more news. This place is our home, breathing and living organism and our legion members spent lots of their time here. Legion members you may ask? Yes, 3A board members are part of 3A legion, powerful force, where everyone is supporting each other and always ready to give heads up or friendly advice.

Why I'm doing all this? Answer is really simple: not everyone wants to read everything on the board, to find something useful, so this thread supposed to be a good choice, if you don't have time to constantly check the board, 3A blogs and all the related media places.

If you are new to the board and 3A, and you want to see news for previous month, you can read them in this section as well, going through all the months of the 2009 and enjoying the fun ride.

All the images are made as thumbnails (new ones are hosted on imgur), for better layout of the news and save loading time, but they all lead to the big pictures.

Hi Everyone - T.P. here with an update for all of you who will be following the Re-Venture crowd this weekend!

Re-Venture is about to hit the ground running, with mere hours left until opening time we are all really excited and raring to go. Since this is Ash's personal blog we will be posting all of the relevant info and updates on the Hong Kong Re-Venture blog. Follow this link for all of the breaking news, photos and updates.

We ask all of you who have been lining up well in advance of opening to be respectful towards our security staff. They're not trying to mess with your experience, it's just a fire and public safety hazard to have so many people sleeping out on the street. Prints And Art

Ash and I are currently gearing up for two events, The Book Show at the Daniel Maghen Gallery in Paris and then a major exhibition taking place at the Jonathan Levine Gallery in NYC. We will be attending the Paris gig in spirit and we wish everyone at the Daniel Maghen Gallery all of the success for that show. Ash and I have been aware for sometime that our prints are harder to come by in Europe due to inport duties etc. So I am proud to announce that we will be creating an Ashley Wood print exclusively for the Daniel Maghen gallery sometime in the near future. Here is our good friend Martin, telling Supreme NOM story:

When Ash was taking about her it remind me in ways of the film The 13th Warrior where the bad guys, couldn't remember their name, had a female shaman back in their cave......supreme was described as someone that never went to the battle field but the 33 Noms went to her.  The tanks hold the gas which effectively gives them the ability to command robots and others and if they take too much and mix with the flow then they could turn into the fallen !!!!! Noms work very much between the worlds of science and religion and of course spirit.  Supreme really does sound like the mother that they go to, when I was listening to the back story the figure became more and more sense to the style Ash has done rather than someone in the field with weapons etc as that would be too obvious......damn I wish I could remember all of it.

Some personal thoughts on Legion, 3A family and life:

Today group of us , who haven't been at Macau, had a little trip there and in the end , we said BYE and gave a strong hugs to our friend from Finland - Mikko, who is currently somewhere over Russia, on the way to Helsinki airport. It's funny that we shared the exact same flight and didn't know that both of us are going and met each other at the luggage station and were like WOAH, what are you doing here?!

Legion is truly a little family and you especially feel it during the conventions, when people start leaving. The feeling of sadness and fear that you will not see the person, who you became attached to in a really long time (or even never again - as life is pretty unpredictable) is quiet overwhelming and breathtaking (at least for me). You realize that life is such a miracle and you have to enjoy and treasure every fucking moment.

By making this sentimental and cliche statement, I got to say, that I really appreciate all the time I spent with my extended ThreeA family here and hope to see you again soon.

Replacement bodies for Popbot Princess and Vanilla TQ release are coming:
Skin allergies have now been beaten, new TQ’s to help in the struggle against shit and apathy and the norm! check ya doorstep soon.

It's not decided yet, whether CS will contact everyone who bought them to confirm the address or there will be some sort of another sequence of actions for that, but I or CS will let you know , once we will have it written in stone.

Traffic during Re-Venture exclusives Baambalandstore allotment sale hit Bambaland hard. Of course not a lot of people scored what they wanted, but I was genuinely happy for people who did and upset for people who didn't. In the end, we at ThreeA , are just humans and can't make everyone happy.

We are glad that we could offer special treatment for 3AA members two times with Re-Venture exclusives. First, there was a pre-order for 3AA members, who were visiting the show , so they could pick up figures and then, Bambalandstore allotment for everyone, who couldn’t make it to Hong Kong. We are really thankful to all 3AA members, who showed their support and became 3AA members this year or prolonged their membership for another run.

3AA membership package is starting to ship this month and we hope that you will LOVE it!

Introduction of ThreeA online catalog:
First ThreeA sale happened almost four years ago , on June 26th 2008 and it was Nom de Plume from World War Robot Universe. And what a four years it were! Since then, we introduced different lines and scales , worked together with coolest artists and now started doing robots under movie licenses. Even though some things changed over the years, in my opinion ThreeA always have been about evolving , but staying true to it’s origin and ideals.

So, to cut the long story short: our art & toy exhibition – Re-Venture closed it’s doors on May 4th and today I want to introduce you ThreeA online catalog ! It’s still very raw, doesn’t feature all of our releases (just 420 entries at the moment) and we will keep working on improving it, but at the same time, we are very anxious to show it to you and especially to all the new people who just discovering the world of ThreeA.

Our boardie Eric (who is know as well for his ThreeA podcasts) won a contest back in 2011 and received, as the prize - sample figure of 1/12th scale Boba Fett. ThreeA made an extremely small run of Star Wars figures to show Lucas , what we are capable of. Unfortunately these figures will never see the production light, but thanks to Eric (who released his Boba from the blister), we can checkout all the amazing details on this little guy.

But first two quotes by Eric (some facts and why he opened the figure):
"I'm discovering things about the jaw-dropping amount of detail that went into this thing that wasn't possible with it locked up in carbon-freeze."
"It feels like the Boba uses the standard AP body with all the articulation that goes along with it.  With the boots, helmet, and armor, he's beefier than an APTK. He's also a tad taller.  Hatchery Guard APTK stands just a hair under 6 inches; Boba Fett stands at 6.25 inches (counting to the top of his helmet)."

So..
So, it's my birthday today, and I'm really knocked over by the emails I have received, best wishes for today etc. I kinda live far away from where my heartland is, USA, Europe etc, no one gives a shit about me or T.P where we live, which is cool, partly why I live where I do I guess, or I'm a sucker for punishment. I don't have much in the way of extended family, and most of our friends have moved on or away so celebrations of most events are modest at best. I'm a softy at heart, and having emails come in from around the world frankly makes me feel fucking happy, not alone and on the right path. Art is the panacea! Happy Birthday to me !

ZvR HC complete book and first 1/6th Zomb figure from ZvR will be making an appearance at SDCC! It was pre-order at IDW Publishing site, with local pick-up during SDCC days and there was plenty of notice given , before pre-order happened.

Finally a oversized ZvR book with all mine and ryall's ZvR work up to the current annual and Free comic book day strips. And of course available at SDCC and naturally published by IDW ! Oh yea, IDW will also have a exclusive new sculpted ZvR zombie at sdcc 1/6th etc. Actually the first true ZvR toy i think.... Email IDW and demand one!

Speaking about questions, which are most likely on everyone's mind...there were small GID Caesar waves at the store, but no Steve, which is mostly like gone. Some people don't believe me, but I got to say, that I can't expose information (even though, in most of the cases, I don't even possess such info in the first place, as I'm not the one, who puts products at the store) about limited sales and especially surprises , so they are real surprises and called like that for a reason. Best of luck, if you are still camping out and hunting for figs! And don't forget that while you are hunting, there is no precise date and time, when other singles or packs will go down...just a heads up, as I think that 11 single Caesars, two different packs (especially if you are 3AA) - provide astonishing variety of choice and 3AA discount gives plenty of opportunities.

Who is Mr. Bridger? it's sock puppet, which she comes with and character from Popbot comic. To illustrate Mr. Bridger looks: here is beautiful sketch by Ashley Wood (comes from dako gallery on CAF). 3A publishing news from Ash.

ThreeA publishing has some very cool new projects out soon! SDCC will the release of a new Phil Hale book and Mompty Tom Tom a collection of comics by Ashely Wood.

Soon after SDCC we will release the first Solid Gold Death Mask book by Rufus Dayglo.

We are also proud and excited to announce a major Bernie Fuchs monograph written by David Apatoff.

Books, comics are a major part of my life, making them, reading them are real joys to me, so heading up the publishing side of 3A could be better

3AA 2012 membership packages started to surface! I promised not to post clear photos of F-LEGION cyborg 002449 face, because few people want to see him first in person. But to satisfy everyone (d'oh), I will post these pictures as links.

To freshen up your memory about 3AA 2012 package deal:
It was offered on January 13th for 180$ and it consisted out of - 3AA exclusive membership figure with 3AA messenger bag, 3AA baseball cap ( regular size ), membership card - shipping was included as well, and 15% discount on all Bambaland purchases & 24 access access to 3AA & standard exclusives for one year.

Sadly 3AA membership is offered only once a year, so if you just discovered about ThreeA or wasn't there back in January, you have to know wait for January 2013 to enroll.
